The Happy Box: Light on Foam

I’m almost done with the Happy Box. Here are some photos of light shining on the acoustic foam, the interior of the Happy Box. The light won’t be this saturated. Dim light encourages lingering.Bright Light 01 Bright Light 02 dark_light01Recently I recorded an organist holding long tones and chords at First Congregational Church near CCAD. Next I’ll design the soundtrack based on these chords.

Aaron Troyer Solo Show @ It Looks Like It’s Open

Aaron is one of my favorite Columbus-based artists. His imaginary landscapes deserve a close look, so please stop by on July 21st.
Some words from the artist:
I am currently promoting my first large-scale solo exhibition of drawings, which will be held at It Looks Like It’s Open Gallery on July 21, 2012. The gallery space acts as a studio, performance space, and workshop with somewhat irregular hours. The show will only be up for the weekend and I am solely responsible for curating, hanging, and promoting it. I have been active in the Columbus art scene for the past five years and am very excited about my current body of work. I hope to have 40-50 original pieces on display, as well as various digital and screen prints for sale. The DIY nature of this show has proven to be quite rewarding, as I have total control over content, presentation and pricing of my art, which I plan to keep reasonable. My goal is to provide art to people that may not always be able to afford “fine art” because of financial restrictions. As an artist/educator, I am familiar with with these financial struggles and hope that people in similar situations will be able to leave the gallery with a new work of art for their home. I have attached two Hi-Res Scans of work to be included in the show.
